Frequently Asked Questions

Kindred means family, in the broadest sense of the word. It reflects our aim to make skincare that suits every member of a household, from the youngest to the oldest, formulated with the same care regardless of age or skin type.

We accept the major credit and debit cards, along with PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All transactions are processed through secure, encrypted checkout.

Natural formulas rely on ingredients the skin already recognises, plant based oils, botanical extracts, and gentle emulsifiers, rather than synthetic alternatives designed to mimic them. For many people, particularly those with sensitive or reactive skin, this tends to mean fewer irritations and a more comfortable, longer term fit with the skin's own balance.

Yes. Our formulas leave out synthetic fragrance, harsh detergents, and unnecessary additives, which is generally what causes irritation for sensitive or reactive skin types.

A cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight is best. This helps preserve both the texture and the effectiveness of the natural ingredients over time.

No. Kindred Apothecary is cruelty free, and always will be.

Yes, most of our range is available unscented for anyone who prefers to go fragrance free. Where we do use fragrance, it comes from pure essential oils rather than synthetic alternatives.

Yes. Every formula is made with gentle, plant derived ingredients and leaves out harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrance, and dyes, which means the same product can generally be used by babies, children, and adults alike, including those with sensitive skin.

Yes, the entire range is plant based and vegan friendly.

Everything is made in Melbourne, using a mix of Australian and internationally sourced plant based ingredients, chosen for quality rather than origin alone.

Our formulas rely on natural ingredients and essential oils, some of which can affect people with specific sensitivities. If allergies are a concern, we'd recommend checking the full ingredient list on the product label, or our Ingredients Glossary, before use.

Not yet, though it's something we're actively looking into as part of our broader approach to packaging and sustainability.

We bring together traditional apothecary knowledge with modern, family focused formulation. Everything is made in Australia using ECOCERT or COSMOS approved ingredients, without synthetic fragrance, parabens, or unnecessary additives, skincare built on a fairly simple idea: fewer, better ingredients.

Our unscented range and formulas using mild essential oils are generally considered suitable during pregnancy, though we'd always recommend checking with your healthcare provider if you have particular concerns.

This lets us guarantee that every bottle reaching you has come straight from our studio, with nothing returned to shelf. If an order arrives damaged or you believe an item is defective, we'll always meet our obligations under Australian Consumer Law, please contact us at hello@kindred-apothecary.com within 48 hours of delivery and we'll sort it out.

If your order hasn't shipped yet, we're usually able to accommodate a change or cancellation, so it's best to contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has shipped, we're unfortunately not able to make changes.
